Loretta is the founding partner of LARGEarchitects, where she sets the overall design direction of each project. Prior to developing her own practice, she worked for 15 years at Foster+Partners, of which ten were spent in China.
She was Chief Representative Officer for the Chinese entity, and Partner in charge of the Datong Art Museum and China Citic Bank Hangzhou Headquarters.
Whilst in the latter years she oversaw a significant number of Chinese projects at higher level, the first four years of her time were spent working on the ground at Beijing Capital International Airport, Terminal 3. She was responsible for the supervision of the local collaborating architects as well as leading large contractor teams to solve design and construction issues. As such, Loretta bore responsibility for the build quality and aesthetic supervision of this highprofile project under extreme programme pressure. Her work included architectural supervision of the over 2km-long roof - a complex 3-dimensional space frame - and 800m-long drop-off canopy cantilevering 45m. Prior to moving to China, Loretta worked for several years on the design and construction of the No.1 London Wall office development in the City of London. Loretta was placed in charge of the curtain wall package.
In addition to her creative architectural career, Loretta pursues fine art photography and fashion design. Her photographic work has been exhibited in London, Beijing and Los Angeles.
Loretta studied at the Bartlett School of Architecture, London and the Ecole des Beaux-Arts, Paris.
